About Us

Founded in 2005, C3 Jian, Inc ("C3") is a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Los Angeles, California. The Company’s technologies were pioneered in the laboratories of Dr. Wenyuan Shi, Chairman of Oral Biology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry, as well as Professor of Microbiology at the UCLA School of Medicine. We are currently developing therapeutic and diagnostic products to improve oral health.

History

A brief overview of the history of C3 can be found below. C3 has worked closely with UCLA on development of its novel technologies.

Our proprietary platform technology uses signal transduction, or the signaling devices that cells use to communicate with one another. We utilize these signaling molecules to design specifically targeted therapeutic and diagnostic product candidates that can attach directly to the cell (bacteria) of interest. C3 licensed its platform technology from UCLA on a worldwide, exclusive basis.

The Company refers to its targeted compounds as STAMPS, or Specifically Targeted Antimicrobial Peptides. Our lead anti-infective STAMPS are targeted against bacterial and fungal infections, specifically those occurring at mucosal surfaces where clear benefits are associated with retaining beneficial bacteria that conventional antibiotics would destroy.
